Smallholder Production Focus

Smallholder producers “a world of dignified human life?”

    Most of the deforestation and other natural ecosystems conversion risk commodities (Cocoa, Oil Palm, Rubber, soy, cashew among others) are produced largely by smallholders living below the poverty line without adequate sustainable production capacities

    We lead working on the ground supporting smallholders and smallholder production communities to:

    • implement best social and environmental management practices in their production systems and communities,

    • diversify their income sources

    • support their inclusion in ethical supply chains Our tested smallholder support vehicle is the Participate, Collaborate and Contribute (PCC) Approach and using contemporary tools (HCV-HCS) and technology. We actively participate in global sustainability initiatives, platforms and programmes to bring the smallholder production context to bear on policies, standards development and development decisions. Capacity Building and Action Research

We build and harness local capacities with international collaboration and lead action research to deliver sustainability solutions from practice to policy
• Resourcetrust is a training organisation for the High Conservation Value Assessor training (www.hcvnetwork.org/als/hcv-assessor-training ).
• A mentor organization for the Proforest Africa Practitioners Network (APN)
